I find myself trying to fight everything, and have decided to choose a few (I can't help myself...LOL) and give it my all. I have watched Mayor Mamdani since before his election, since my son resides on Wall St. and is a supporter. Generally, I agree that we should participate and expect our government to work for all. However, I recently heard on the Pivot podcast that Professor Scott Galloway was doxed by the mayor as someone who will be subject to the new pied-a-terre tax. Prof G has been supportive of this tax but now feels personally exposed to unhinged people in our society. Further, this creates support for the right-wing narrative, although not true, that democratic socialists want to take from the rich, making them feel like criminals due to their success. Prof G. also recognizes his advantage of a publicly paid-for education. It is a sad day to lose the support of someone who thinks logically, supports Mamdani, yet is treated like a deadbeat. Mamdani should have sent out the tax bills as passed without this public display.
