Great story! Being present is always the most important aspect of being a good person. There are so many distractions that the practice of being present is very challenging but crucial.

beautiful. And that's all we can do: suit up and show up and do the work.

I love this story. Showing up everyday, being present everyday, that is leadership. B

Wes Moore is my Governor. I live in a rural community Appalachia, just about as far from Annapolis as one can get in Maryland. Yet he is present here, and his presence, with you whether one on one giving you one of his amazing hugs or in a group of almost 100 people here as he was a week and a half ago, is always authentic and thoughtful. He is an amazing man and an incredible Governor. And I am so grateful that in this moment in our country’s history, I live in Maryland where he is our Governor. Thank you for seeing who he really is.

My mind is blown. At one point I had (may still have) a signed copy of “The Other Wes Moore”. We’ve moved several times but I’ll be hunting it down tomorrow.

It was not till reading this that the darn lightbulb went off that the Governor is the one and only. Huge face plant moment!

God, I love this for so many reasons: that there are men out there who see the connection between being a good man and raising good men; that presence is EVERYTHING; and, that the food of our mothers and fathers, from all countries, nourishes more than just our bodies.

Once again, Chef, huge kudos to you. 🌺🌼🌸

To paint Wes Moore in this light is to overlook a lot of serious mistakes he has made that have had negative impact on Maryland and its citizens. I have never voted republican, but want much better options from the democrats. The DHS debacle regarding children in state custody under Lopez was unforgivable. The sheer lack of attention given to the Axelon/BGE scandal and AI data center development--the proposed plan was so overblown, and the preemptive costs billed to proactively cover the cost of the infrastructure hit consumers hard and made us all wish for a return to public-owned utilities--and all this development in the middle of the worst multi-year drought the U.S. has suffered since the dust bowl era for a technology that is way ahead of its time and that should be regulated much more cautiously. Then there was the fiscal irresponsibility of the budget deficit that brought our State's bond rating down and caused taxes to spike. I could go on, but this is one of the most critical times in our democracy. To think I had so much hope for this governor who ultimately has cost its citizens so much. We need competent leaders who will study the issues carefully, hire the right team with the right values and deep commitment to the public, listen to constituents, and do the right thing. We're not there yet.
