When I.was in grad school at the University of Michigan in the mid-70s, there was an Orange Julius on the street level of my apartment building. I was a regular! Thanks for the memory!
I’m a huge citrus fan and love Orange Julius. There was a mall chain restaurant called Olga’s in my town in Michigan and they had a pretty delicious second runner up that was orange, but more along the lines of an orange creamsicle. Totally going to try this with the kids when school is out. Any thoughts on whether it would work to substitute lemon juice for a lemon-y version??
There’s a great throwaway moment in a Simpsons episode where they show a sign for 20th Century Fox, and below it in small print it says, “a division of Orange Julius”. I laughed for weeks.
Way back when, we used to drive 40 miles to NorthPark Mall just to get an Orange Julius. Your recipe sounds refreshing !! Just in time for summer 🍊⛱️ I'm thinking about trying it with lemons too ..... maybe call it Lemon Lucious ..... 🍋😋
I remember drinking these at the mall. Great memories.

Love that, thanks!
Thanks for this! I remember always having my Orange Julius with a hotdog sandwich. My childhood memories are suddenly flooding back.
Great memory

Yes, any citrus and most fruits will work. With lemon, I'd adjust the sweetened condensed milk enough to achieve your desired sweetness.
I have a similar recipe but uses a scoop of good vanilla ice cream. It is all my good childhood memories in a glass.
Headed to the store for sweetened condensed milk now. Thanks for this!
Woohoo!

Ha! I didn't know about that, thanks!

Perfect name!
My first real job was at the mall’s Orange Julius!
No way! How were they made? Was the powder packet used when you were there?
We had the large jars of powder that substituted the raw egg, it was in the mid nineties.
I loved the Strawberry Julius - do you suppose it’s a similar recipe? (With more liquid)
Yes! It works great; I've done it with a handful of ripe strawberries.
A scoop of good vanilla ice cream and orange juice also works.
Sure does! That's a creamcicle!
