The single grated Granny Smith apple sounds like a stroke of brilliance. I will find out soon!

Thanks so much for the recipe and the background info on wild blueberries in Maine!

The pie looks delicious. Blueberry was my first pie as a newlywed. My crust was so tough, you needed a chisel to get it out of the pie plate. My new husband laughed and I cried. I’m not so sensitive now, after 46 years.

PS Can I use Trader Joe’s frozen wild blueberries?

Sounds like my first few pies! Yes, use whichever blueberries you prefer.

I don’t think anyone carries frozen Maine blueberries here in the mountains of California. There’s no Raley’s or Trader Joe’s up here. Just Safeway and Walmart. So frozen it is. I make my own crust as well and it’s delicious and flaky. Payday (SS) is Friday so that might be my next project. Made a killer peach pie a few weeks ago. Fresh peaches and my secret ingredient. 😉

I’ll have to try the crust recipe. Tried many recipes over the years and then I found Marie Calendar’s frozen crust. It’s totally cheating but darn good when you need to throw a pie together.
