I haven't read Platner "copped" to any of the allegations, however, I would hate to find out down the road that in fact the woman was telling the truth and I voted to support him. I've read/heard that he is contemplating what his next move is.
I don't support the sexual predator in the White House, and I don't want to support anyone else who is being accused. If that matter were to get cleared up and he is found to not be guilty of these allegations, than I'd support him, but his time is running out.

I wanted to believe he was Maine's choice for beating Susan Collins, but not if it is built on lies, aggression, and assault. And in this case, I have to stand with the woman/women, as too many women's voices have not been heard or listened to.

Why are we not cultivating young candidates who are NOT nightmares? Unpolished and broken people are not our only choice! Why does the party believe we do not expect more nor deserve better? As one with very intimate knowledge of the horrors of PTSD and addiction, I can attest that these are tragic facts, and good souls can be trapped inside these traumas. We need to do better to serve them and help them heal. We also need to do better for our constituents. For our party. For our country. Also, please understand, (I believe you do Slade, but I want the DEMS to hear this and hope they read you) every time this scenario unfolds, a pretty big percentage of your constituents are reliving their own trauma and wondering why this is the best their party can do? Why would the Dems ignore smart, accomplished women, or anyone who is not a train wreck and toxic to the Party goals? Why would they do so over and over? Here in South Carolina, our Republican candidate was serving as Attorney General a few months back when the Feds informed Alan Wilson that there was a sitting SC House member, RJ May who would be charged with sexual crimes against children. This is what the prosecutor said, "South Carolina U.S. Attorney Bryan Stirling called the five charges, lowered as part of a plea deal, the "worst of the worst."
"These actions by (Robert) John May are deplorable, depraved and disgusting," Stirling said in a post-court press conference. "... We're still investigating. We're not going to stop until we try to identify everybody that's involved in these heinous acts"
Prosecutors said there are 62 known victims.
He still got a plea deal and only had to plead guilty to five charges. Alan Wilson the AG did nothing. RJ May did not step down or get removed from office until he was already incarcerated. Mr. Wilson knew the feds had their case locked up and that there was a minor child who lived with this man. No one swooped in to protect this potential victim. Since SC is such a red state, I guess this man will be our new governor. I guess we cannot even hope for justice in SC.
The racism (totenkoff tattoo) should have been what disqualified him from being the nominee. The prior sexual assault allegations were also dismissed. We want a person who has personal integrity as well as political views that are progressive. Platner should suspend his campaign to allow a different candidate to be on the ballot.
The NYT interviewed her over 6 months and none of this new story was anywhere. Nothing in the messages backs of the details of the new story. Kill Platner on a dem smear op, own Collins reelection. Own the continuing deaths of women from her votes. But don’t hide behind some bs about believing and protecting women.

These stories are on the timeline of survivors being ready and willing to tell their full account, which is no small task, and investigative journalists and their publications being ready to publish highly corroborated accounts of misconduct. The reality is that this will assure Collins retains office just like the Biden coup assured trumps win. I voted for Platner - I was so hoping the "rumors" were not true, but the evidence seems to say otherwise, and "No means no!"
