Those pancakes would give me a heart attack, but the humanity and compassion in the speeches you discuss is what keeps my heart pumping.

Obama will always be my President. He’s the first person I ever voted for at the age of 54. I’d never voted before he ran and I voted for him both times. I voted for Hillary because I loathed Drump then and even more now. I voted for Joe Biden. I miss Barack & Michelle Obama so very much. They were the epitome of dignity, family strength and integrity in every way. We have fallen so far down now. I hope we can recover in my lifetime. I’m making oatmeal pancakes tomorrow Slade. These are nice but not for me. Thank you for everything you do for us all.

p.s. you have a new paid sub! ☺️

I made them this morning. I need to work on my technique for tucking the edges, and I wasn't a fan of the soy sauce in the maple syrup. Still a five-star recipe!

I didn’t realize you were here on Substack, too!! Following here now, and cannot wait to make these (I’ve been itching for pancakes for like a week now, so this is very timely)!!!

Do the pancakes taste yeasty? We have a restaurant here that makes pancakes with yeast…not a fan. Now the butter and syrup sound wonderful. I really miss President Obama 😢

They do, ever so slightly. But I would say the buttermilk is the main feature of its rich flavor.
